This is an electric guitar with a body shape somewhere in between stratocaster and jazzmaster. It has a Fender scale length (648 mm). The body is made of two pieces of alder with a block of curly maple in the middle, the top is curly French walnut.\u00a0The pickups are Tonerider AC2 humbuckers, which I chose for their vintage PAF-like sound.<\/p>\n
As you can see from the picture of the back, I used a tremolo-style bridge, but did’t attach the springs, because I simply don’t like tremolos. Instead, I blocked off the bridge with a little block of walnut. It would be really easy to add the springs later, if someone wanted to use the tremolo.<\/p>\n
I haven’t added string trees to the headstock yet. I ordered a pair of black roller string trees online somewhere, but when they arrived I discovered that the color was more like bronze, not really black, and I didn’t like the way they looked next to the black tuner pegs.<\/p>\n
