Here she is, Jenny B, the new girl on the block. This is the first ukulele I’ve made using my new Jenny form, and of course I chose the name Jenny for it. The body shape is fashioned after a picture that I took of one of my close friends ages ago when we were both growing up and „discovering life together“.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
It is a tenor ukulele with double (high\/low) G-string. It has a „toasted“ spruce top and mahogany back and sides. The fretboard and head plate are made from a single piece of rosewood and set together so that the grain is continuous. I’ll try to add some pictures where this is easier to see.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
It has a simple three-ring rosette of maple and rosewood and simple maple binding. No tail graft this time, because the sides are made from a single piece of mahogany, but I did put in a tail block so that a strap button or pickup jack can be added, if anyone wants to.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
The neck is alder with a heel made of „toasted“ mahogany. This is actually the second neck I’ve made for this instrument. The original neck was mahogany with a maple heel, but I had some issues with the alignment and at some point got tired of fiddling with it and decided to put that neck away and make an alder one instead.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
